RQ11210 - Sr. Database Administrator

9-month contract (170 business days) - possible extension

Remote - Anywhere in Ontario

Must Have:

• 10+ years of hands-on experience as a DBA • Experience with database optimization, capacity planning, installation and migration, database design, performance tuning, backup and recovery. • Experience maintaining and monitoring a number of Oracle 10g,11g,12c,19c databases in large multi-tenant environments • Experience migrating from end of life Oracle database to latest supported version in on-premise and cloud data centers.

Description - 'APEX/ORDS Evergreening' - The goal of the APEX/ORDS evergreening initiative is to upgrade the full technical stack for 5 Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks business critical applications. The current suite is built with Oracle database, APEX/ORDS, and Red Hat Linux OS software which are all at end-of-life support with the manufacturer. To stay secure and compliant with Ontario's Digital and Data Strategy, the systems software and hardware technical components must be upgraded - A process known as Evergreening . Cloud hosting is targeted as part of this evergreening.
