Data Engineering and BI Specialist

We're partnering with a highly regarded organisation that plays a critical role across the state. They are seeking a Senior Power BI & Azure Data Engineer to help strengthen and modernise a large-scale data and reporting environment supporting operational decision-making.

This is a hands-on technical role for someone who enjoys solving complex platform issues, improving data quality and building scalable reporting solutions that have genuine organisational impact.

What you'll be doing

You'll work closely with the Performance Reporting & Analysis team to:

• Resolve complex Azure Synapse and Databricks platform issues • Investigate and remediate PySpark, Delta Lake and pipeline failures • Improve reliability of enterprise reporting and overnight data refreshes • Integrate new data sources into an established Azure data platform • Redevelop a flagship corporate Power BI dashboard from the ground up • Optimise Power BI data models, DAX calculations and user experience • Implement monitoring, alerting and operational support processes • Document technical procedures and upskill internal team members
