Senior Software Engineer

The Senior Software Engineer will solve complex data and performance challenges in Gridline’s SQL Server environment. This role is primarily focused on SQL Server, data warehousing, stored procedures, database performance, SQL jobs, and the data access layer. The successful candidate will also be able to follow data up the stack and occasionally make targeted changes in the C#/.NET and React applications that consume that data.

This role requires someone who can take ownership of ambiguous data problems, investigate independently, ask focused questions when blocked, and drive work to completion without heavy day-to-day direction.

What you will do

• Maintain and improve the complex stored procedures that build the warehouse tables. • Optimize database performance for large datasets exceeding 300 million rows using indexing, query tuning, execution plan analysis, partitioning strategies, and other SQL Server performance techniques. • Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize SQL Server Agent jobs, including job scheduling, failure analysis, retry behavior, dependency review, and performance impact. • Understand how the data is used throughout Gridline products and be able to identify upstream impacts. • Ability to understand, analyze, and summarize complex telematics data using SQL. • Maintain source control of SQL code using Git. • Participate in Agile ceremonies in 2 week sprints. • Use Azure Dev Ops for workflow. • User Claude or Cursor to assist in writing code, solving…
