You'll take ownership of the data engineering function, shape the long-term strategy, and build a high-performing team that will have a direct impact on business-wide decision making.

THE COMPANY

Our client is a leading international logistics and transportation business operating at global scale. Backed by a major multinational group, they are investing heavily in modernising their technology and data capabilities, transitioning from legacy systems to a cloud-native data platform. This role offers the chance to lead that transformation while building a sustainable in-house engineering capability.

THE ROLE

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of 8-10 Data Engineers across onshore and offshore locations • Define and deliver the data engineering strategy, roadmap and best practices • Drive the migration from legacy on-premise technology to a modern AWS and Snowflake data platform • Build internal capability and reduce reliance on external contractors • Partner closely with Architecture, Analytics and senior business stakeholders • Oversee platform reliability, support processes and engineering standards • Provide technical leadership across data platform and engineering initiatives
