Advanced Data Platform Engineer

While this position is eligible to work remotely if the successful candidate is located outside the Memphis, TN or Harrison, AR areas, the candidate must reside within 50 miles of a FedEx Freight location within the continental U.S. If the successful candidate is located in the Memphis, TN or Harrison, AR areas, the candidate will be required to work a hybrid schedule, working three days per week in the office.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Responsible for designing, operating, securing, and optimizing the enterprise Lakehouse platform that powers analytics, AI, and data products Role evolves the traditional DBA discipline into a modern cloud-native data platform engineering function focused on reliability, governance, automation, scalability, and cost efficiency.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, implement, and operate the enterprise Lakehouse platform (e.g., Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, or similar). • Manage platform configuration, storage architecture, catalogs, schemas, and access controls. • Administer governance capabilities such as Unity Catalog, Microsoft Purview, and enterprise security policies. • Optimize platform performance, workload management, and query execution. • Implement monitoring, observability, alerting, backup, disaster recovery, and service-level objectives. • Develop Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform/Bicep) and CI/CD pipelines for platform deployment. • Partner with cloud infrastructure teams on networking, identity, and compute. • Enable…
