Systems Administrator

Leidos has an exciting and rewarding opportunity for a Systems Administrator to work independently with minimal supervision providing systems administration for the Infrastructure and Deactivation & Remediation contractors at the DOE Portsmouth (Piketon, Ohio) site. The position will be part of an IT team responsible for the design, deployment, maintenance, configuration management, monitoring and troubleshooting of the IT infrastructure.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform daily system administration, operation and maintenance support activities in support of a physical and virtual environment. • Provide primary support and management of the IT server infrastructure and hosted systems, focusing on areas like Active Directory, permissions, storage, Group Policy, etc. • Support first-tier technical staff with troubleshooting and the resolution of more complex issues related to software tools, applications, databases, and system access. • Analyze and resolve hardware and software problems for end users, with primary emphasis on server-related issues. • Support System Administration of primary Omnissa/VMWare platforms across the site, among other technologies • Works with hardware/software vendors to analyze, troubleshoot and resolve issues. • Recommend hardware and software solutions to meet end user and IT needs. • Support Cyber Security compliance and audit preparation in coordination with the Cyber Security Team. • Consults with internal departments to identify customer…
