About the role

VMIA is the Victorian Government’s insurer and risk adviser, covering the people, places and projects that help Victorians thrive.

As our Data Platform Engineer, you’ll help build and maintain the infrastructure that supports VMIA’s data and digital initiatives. You’ll write clean, maintainable code, develop clear documentation and support the deployment of secure, reliable data infrastructure.

Working within the Data and Analytics team in the Business Performance Division, you’ll gain hands-on experience in software engineering, data governance and enterprise data platforms, with guidance from experienced data professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Help build and maintain Snowflake databases, schemas, warehouses, tables and stored procedures using Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Pulumi or Terraform. • Write Python and SQL to support deployment scripts, stored procedures and data ingestion pipelines. • Assist with consistent, repeatable deployments…
