Senior Platform Engineer

Salary: £50,000 - 80,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong experience building cloud-native platforms on AWS, GCP, or Azure, with a deep understanding and hands-on experience of Kubernetes. • Proficiency in Go, particularly for building backend services, CLIs, or Kubernetes controllers/operators. • Experience with GitOps and CI/CD systems, and knowledge of building reliable, automated delivery pipelines. • Understanding of distributed systems and experience designing scalable, resilient architectures. • Experience building self-service platforms or internal developer platforms (IDPs). • A strong focus on developer experience, usability, and reducing cognitive load through good abstractions. • Clear communication skills and enjoyment of collaborating across teams to drive platform adoption. • Experience with data technologies and processes, such as streaming and batch processes and large data storage systems, is nice to have.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate on the design and implementation of platform capabilities using Kubernetes-native patterns and event-driven architectures. • Drive the adoption of platform engineering principles by building reusable abstractions and self-service workflows for internal users. • Design and implement Kubernetes controllers/operators in Go to automate infrastructure and application lifecycle management. • Mentor engineers and contribute to growing platform engineering practices across our pillar in the Data and ML Platform teams. •…
