Senior Data Science Manager

THOR Solutions is actively seeking a senior-level Data Science Manager to support the United States Coast Guard (USCG)’s Ship Design Team (SDT) in Washington, DC. In this role, the candidate will applying statistical analysis and data mining to apply, learn, and improve understanding of data relating to USCG platforms, systems, and personnel. An ideal candidate will have prior experience collecting, interpreting, modeling, and publishing data in a USCG, Navy, DoD, or other Federal environment.

Typical Responsibilities:

• Plan and conduct statistical data analytics projects and/or studies to evaluate, design, and tabulate statistical sampling plans and analytical procedures and processes. • Leverage Structured Query Language (SQL), Python data science and visualization packages (PyMC3, matplotlib, Bokeh, Sci-Kit, TensorFlow), MatLAB, PHP, Tableau, and similar data integration services and data visualization tools. • Develop plans and oversight for full product development for Data Science projects from requirements development to deployment and sustainment. • Provide recommendations for improvement, and data use, including development of standards, understanding data from trade, feasibility and in-life assessments. • Perform and present results of simulations and sampling techniques such as Monte Carlo, Latin Hypercube, Markov Chain, etc. • Provide professional and scientific expertise in performance of work requiring knowledge and application of mathematics, statistical…
