Backend Engineer

Redwire is an innovative space and defense technology company driving advanced capabilities across the aerospace sector. We are looking for a leader who can contribute to concept of operations development, mission solution design, and strategic analysis for spacecraft programs supporting National Security Space. This includes work spanning space domain awareness, space resiliency, mission autonomy, structures, sensors, and next‑generation space systems.

We are seeking a talented Back End Software Engineer to join our team in Chantilly, VA. This position will be 100% on-site.

Ideal Experience

• 2+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong focus on backend, high‑performance, or systems‑level software. • Advanced proficiency in Python, C++, and/or Rust, with demonstrated experience building high‑performance or low‑latency services • Experience developing real‑time or near–real‑time processing pipelines, including deterministic execution, concurrency models, and multi‑threaded or multi‑process architectures. • Strong understanding of GPU‑accelerated computation (CUDA, GPU kernels, or heterogeneous compute architectures) • Experience implementing scalable Monte Carlo Analysis, evolutionary algorithms or large‑scale statistical simulation pipelines • Expertise in networking and real‑time data transport, including UDP/TCP, Pub/Sub, binary serialization formats, high‑throughput messaging, and protocols for distributed simulation. • Experience designing…
