Title: SC Cleared Infrastructure Engineer (Outside IR35) Location: Hybrid, Portsmouth area, allow one day a week Contract: Until the end of March 2027 Rate: £500 to £525 per day Start: ASAP You must hold active SC Clearance to be eligible for this role. This role has been deemed Outside IR35. The Opportunity We are looking for an experienced SC Cleared Infrastructure Engineer to join a greenfield Defence programme, helping to design and build a new secure infrastructure environment from the ground up. This is a hands-on design and build role rather than BAU support. You will work across Windows infrastructure, Linux, virtualisation and security, helping establish a secure environment incorporating hardening, monitoring, logging and Zero Trust principles and Secure by Design practices. The position is predominantly remote, with approximately four days per month onsite near Portsmouth. The Role Working within a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will: Design and build secure infrastructure within a greenfield environment. Work across Windows Server 2022/2025, Active Directory, Group Policy and Windows 11, alongside some Linux/Ubuntu. Configure and harden Microsoft infrastructure and virtualisation solutions, including Hyper-V. Implement infrastructure security controls and Secure by Design principles.
